In the course of developing international, scientific and medical relations, the office of scientific, medical and university collaboration of Iran and France with the presence of the Ambassador of France in Iran François Senemaud, and the Chancellor Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Ali Asghar Peyvandi and a group of professors and researchers of the two countries were opened at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences on July 18, 2017.

The French ambassador at the ceremony said, I am very glad that we were able to cooperate with the authorities and today we will see the opening of a joint Iranian-French office of medical and scientific collaboration. He also expressed his satisfaction with seeing the potential between the two countries. Mr. François Senno saw the change in the development of international scientific relations and the importance of human beings as two common points for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of health. At the end the Ambassador appreciated the opportunities given by opening a scientific and medical collaboration between the two countries.

The Chancellor of Shahid beheshti University of Medical Sciences, at the ceremony referred to the historical scientific cooperation between Iran and France, the mission of development the international relations between France and Iran was entrusted to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Peyvandi explained in line with the development of international scientific and medical relations there are several measures aimed to strengthening and developing the international relations with France, including meeting with the French Ambassador. Also, a joint seminar with three university hospitals of Paris under the title management meetings occurred prior to this ceremony. The aim of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences is to establish a scientific cooperation office between Iran and France at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences to achieve a clear path to accelerate the consolidation and strengthening the relations between the two countries, especially in the area of medical sciences.

Deputy Minister of International Affairs at the Ministry of Health also expressed his hope that the meeting will improve and expand the scientific relations between the two countries. Dr. Mohsen Asadi Larry with reference to the Ministry of Health of the attendants visited France stated the last visit by the mark of both countries to promote bilateral cooperation especially in the field of health. Pointing to the presence of the Associate Dean of the University René Descartes and expressed hope at the ceremony that this will  lead to the development of scientific collaboration with the government of France.

Dr. Farhad Heshmati Chairman of the Medical Association of Iran-France said the support of political and scientific personalities of the country underscores both the link and the friendship of France and Iran and develop relationships at all levels especially scientific and medical.

At the end of the ceremony, the inauguration of memorial postage stamps for the scientific and medical collaboration office was revealed and the office of Iran and France was inaugurated. Also on the sidelines of the ceremony, the French-language website http://fr.sbmu.ac.ir of Shahid beheshti University of Medical Sciences officially started to operate.
